WHAT IS EPA?


Environmental Practitioners Association or simply EPA is a non-stock, non-profit organization that fosters ‘best environmental practices’. It promotes government initiatives over sound environment and safety management within work sites.  It is a tangible response to an ever-increasing demand for responsible management or promotion of self-regulation which is generated towards ISO Certification such as QMS, EMS, OHSAS, and the like.

 

WHO COMPRISES THE EPA?


EPA encourages all institutions and organizations that regard human life and environment as precious assets for ‘sustainable development’.  It embraces practitioners of environment, health & safety, and pollution control.  Member-organization can designate their most able representative(s) from the said field(s) of practice.

 

VISION


The EPA will be the premier national organization of environmental professionals committed to the protection and conservation of the environment and to the realization of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

 

MISSION

  1. To enhance proficient, efficient and responsible environmental professionals performing within the highest ethical standards through continuous capacity building.
  2. To expand EPA coverage to a national level through linkages with other organizations.
  3. To foster environmental protection and conservation initiatives through the intensification of the implementation of best environmental practices including health, safety and security consistent with the principle of sustainable development.
  4. To advocate national programs and initiatives on health, safety, security and environment through the conduct of public awareness and information, education and communication campaigns and active participation in national environmental policy formulation.

 

OBJECTIVES

  • To carry out initiatives on environmental protection and conservation through the implementation of BEP (Best Environmental Practices).
  • To develop and implement a strategic planning model for sustainable development and management of EPA resources.
  • To assist member companies and professionals and to ensure compliance with the environmental, health, safety and security regulations.
  • To improve professional capacity building of members and stakeholders on the local and national levels.
  • Advancement of professional accreditation and qualification as well as management systems expertise.
  • Environment, Safety and Health Accreditation of members.
  • Increase in competence and the number of members trained.
  • To participate in the formulation programs and initiatives on HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, & Environment) on different professional levels i.e. President/CEO, Environmental Managers/Officers, and Staffs.

 

EPA ORGANIZATION IS SUPPORTED BY (FIVE) 5 WORKGROUPS TASKED TO PROVIDE SUBSTANCE TO ITS OBJECTIVES, AS FOLLOWS:

  1. Planning;
  2. Membership and Promotions;
  3. Trainings;
  4. Documentation and Communication; and
  5. Ways and Means.

HOW DOES IT OPERATE?

EPA believes that no boundaries exist between institutions, as we share and affect the same atmosphere above us.  It, therefore, relies on true commitment of organizations and individuals with unwavering ideals in promoting a better workplace and sound environment.  Shared expertise and logistics among members to foster optimum use of resources and strengthen developmental aspirations. It is an organization that sustains itself financially from memberships and goodwill.

Institutional membership is at PhP3,000.00 annually which allows for 1-2 designated representatives. However, member organizations can register more than two representatives at an additional fee of PhP1,500.00 annually for each additional representative.
